Project Summary

The AgriTech Initiative empowers rural farmers in Northern Uganda by enhancing digital connectivity and introducing smart, data-driven farming practices that improve yields and livelihoods. By deploying an IoT agriculture sensor network in Apac District, alongside tools such as soil health kits, moisture sensors, and a mobile application, the project enables farmers to make informed decisions about soil management, planting, and harvesting. With agriculture being the backbone of most rural economies, these innovations encourage broader internet adoption, as communities increasingly recognize the value of digital tools in their daily work. The initiative also emphasizes gender inclusion, ensuring that women farmers, who make up a significant portion of the agricultural workforce, gain equal access to technologies, skills, and knowledge that strengthen their productivity and economic resilience. By integrating internet connectivity, innovation, and agriculture, rural communities are being transformed into sustainable, digitally empowered economies, fostering gender equity, climate resilience, and technological innovation.
